[Jae-ha nods agreeably.] "There are a few of those in this party of ours. Of course, those of us that aren't are very protective." [they're across the creek! Ao the squirrel is set free to launch herself bodily at Kano, rotund little form heading straight for his face.] Oop! [Zeno catches her]

E-excitable! Hello there, you!

[Zeno scolds her softly.] Careful, young lady, you could have knocked him into the creek. [she seems to pout briefly, but scurries up Zeno's arm to perch on his shoulder and greet Kano from there, offering him an acorn.] "Ahh, she's taken a liking to you. Now you've been properly vetted."

Ah, what a flirt.

[takes the acorn and the pets her head, gentle]

[she makes an utterly precious but ultimately stupid little mascot noise and flops onto her belly on Zeno's shoulder, as if totally enamored.]

That she is, that she is~ Camp is this way.

[takes hold of zeno's sleeve as they go, looking around curiously]

What is such a group out and about for?

[The forest is lightly packed enough that there are patches of sunlight all around, keeping it from being too intimidating. Shin Ah falls into step on Zeno's other side, as if out of habit, and Jae-ha leads them. He answers over his shoulder.]

"We're all weak to a cute face, is all."

[Jae-ha actually has to stop and lean against a tree, he's laughing so hard.] Ah... Zeno told you about his brothers, but not about any of the rest...

To be fair we were very occupied with Hell and then being tired because of Hell.

[well that gets Jae-ha to stop laughing really fast, and he turns, alarmed.] Hell? [zeno is very quiet and very still]

I guess phrases like that aren't used as casually here? It was a difficult time, I meant? At least for a soft, delicate indoor child like myself. Zeno himself didn't seem particularly phased. That tends to be how those sorts of situations go.

[In Which Kano Learns That Zeno Never Tells Anyone Anything If He Can Get Away With It Zeno smoothly picks up Kano's backpedaling though, bumping into his side cheerfully.] Zeno's still sorry he couldn't be of more help to you. It was a pretty rough ride, right? [Jae-ha seems DECIDEDLY UNCONVINCED, but after a few moments seems to decide that kicking up too much fuss isn't gonna do jack shit, so he sighs and turns to continue leading them to camp.] "The times where I was the only really shady person in this party are long gone, huh... Well, you'll fit right in, Kano." [if Kano is looking, he'll note that Shin Ah has quietly taken Zeno's hand during all this.]

[if he is looking, he's hiding it very well. then again, hiding what hes doing is something Kano DOES do well so....]

Haha, well, no one could accuse Ryokuryuu of being stuffy, either, so there's really no comparison. Both are good.
